Minutes of a meeting of Latimer Parish Council held on Monday 4th October 2010 at Ley Hill Memorial Hall at 7.15pm.

A Minute’s Silence preceded the meeting in memory of the late Mr Graham Sussum, Chairman, Latimer Parish Council, who sadly passed away on 15th August 2010.

Donations of £50 each to Iain Rennie Hospice at Home and the Prostate Cancer Foundation were agreed by all in his memory.

Present  B Perrott (Vice Chairman)(BP), K Platt (KP), R Sanders (RS), L Sunderland (LS), R Walter (Clerk)(RW).

Mrs Perrott chaired this meeting.

Mr Andrew Garth, prospective candidate for District Council seat of Ashley Green, Chenies & Latimer, attended the first part of the meeting.

Questions from the public Andrew Garth asked Councillors about current local issues & matters, and then departed.

Appointment of new Chairman RS briefed all on procedure and proposed Keith Platt, seconded by LS. Carried unanimously.

Appointment of new Parish Councillor Neil Lamond stated that he was prepared to accept the present vacancy and briefed Councillors on his background. Proposed by RS, seconded by KP. Carried unanimously. Clerk to organise necessary paperwork and cheque signatory with Lloyds Bank.

Mr Lamond joined the meeting.

Matters arising

  1. Ley Hill News & Views Future copies requested by KP & BP
  2. Jasons Hill (Tree surgery) KP to organise meeting with D Stowe, RS & LS on site.
  3. LPC Website Clerk reported she had had little time to practise updating website recently. KP to investigate Chenies PC website. Clerk to provide RS with password so he can investigate.
  4. LAF Confirmation letter received from C Schwier re salt bins and bus shelter
  5. NAG  KP updated meeting. KP to consult Pat Francis again, as some signs are inappropriately placed eg Ley Hill Common. Next meeting 16.11.10 at Ashley Green. KP requested that someone from Ley Hill also attends and to ask JP.
  6. Latimer Phone Box Light switch found and will be switched on in winter. May put in painted map of local area.
  7. Posts outside Shenley Cottage Clerk had received a number of emails regarding the white posts. Clerk to notify D Stowe of responsible persons and LPC will abide by his decision & advice. Greencroft – same. Terra Firma – RS & NL to investigate and report to next meeting. Rowan Tree Farm – is business still ongoing & therefore is planning consent still valid? RS to investigate.

iii) CAB requested opportunity to brief LPC. All agreed CAB could attend at 6.45pm on 22 Nov. Clerk to action.

Burial Ground

  1. Two deeds for plot purchases for Mrs H Sussum and Mrs L Sunderland were presented for signing.
  2. Receipts: £212 from Mrs H Sussum (plot purchase & full burial); £280 from Mrs L Sunderland (full plot purchase); £120 from R C Escott for ashes interment & additional inscription re R Bates; £280 from J & M McManus (full plot purchase)
  3. Mrs Hill requested permission to purchase software on Cemetery Management @ £38.00 Proposed by KP, seconded by NL.
  4. Mileage for Mrs Hill to attend SLCC course agreed at £67.60 based on advice from BALC.
  5. Clerk to ask T Gillott if he would kindly remove rubbish from burial ground.

  4. KP to draft a maintenance schedule and reported on litter bin on Latimer village green
  5. Clerk to pass details of all street lamps to Eon
  6. Ley Hill Litterblitz 2.10.10. Clerk organised this & 15 people turned up. Fairly successful for this time of year.
  7. NL reported on Memorial Hall plans for solar panels & Queen’s Diamond Jubilee (4 day B/H weekend June 2012)
