LATIMER PARISH COUNCIL

 Minutes of a meeting of Latimer Parish Council held on Monday 2nd August 2010 at Ley Hill Memorial Hall at 7.15pm.

The first part of the meeting was attended by Martin Warner (MD), Paul Freeman (Gp Tech Dir), Robert Roe (Sales Mgr), Ivan Lee (Works Mgr) and Steve Bowley (Planning Consultant) all rep Dunton Bros Ltd; and M Long and S Peterson as members of the public.

Declarations of interest None

Questions from the public Steve Bowley briefed the meeting on the current planning application CH/2010/60001/BCC submitted by Meadhams Farm Brickworks. This is a proposed variation and extension of the current conditions. BCC planning officers have visited the site and generally support this. Martin Warner invited all present to make a site visit: BP, JP, SP, ML, RS, CL and RW expressed interest. Clerk to arrange and write in support.

Matters arising

  1. Jasons Hill (Tree surgery) Ongoing 
  2. LPC Website Clerk/RS to meet with Sally Kendall on 16 Aug 8pm to update site
  3. LAF KP briefed all on delegated budget. RS/KP to complete forms for 3 salt bins + bus shelter and return to Clerk for posting asap (27 Aug deadline).
  4. NAG  KP reported that 6mths pass before police start prosecuting. Pat Francis investigating VAS. Review to take place after 12 months.
  5. Latimer Phone Box KP has placed sign within box. Replacement glass cost £16.86. Proposed by JP, seconded by RS.
  6. Posts outside Shenley Cottage Posts stop verges being churned up. Email from D Silverstone received. GS to speak to D Stowe regarding the best way forward. Greencroft – DS to action. Terra Firma – passed to enforcers. Rowan Tree Farm – owner sadly passed away recently.

Burial Ground

  1. Upkeep of burial ground – quote received from T Gillott for £1300 per annum for cutting and strimming of grounds only. Proposed by RS, seconded by JP. All agreed to accept. RS asked if TG would include the front hedge within this.
  2. £200 received from Mrs E N Gillman for purchase of plots U109A+B, ashes scattering (Mr A N Gillman 2.8.10), and memorial permission. Rev R Harris attended to sign Burial Register
  3. RW/JH to meet with N Batt on 16 Aug 5pm to commence work on H & S survey repairs.

(altered from 20 September due to RS/KP on holiday). KP to cancel Latimer Parish Hall.

Any Other Business

  1. RS queried (i) planning consent at Rowan Tree Farm as animals did not appear to be present, (ii) Ley Hill Beer & Music Festival permission to use the Common, (iii) ‘green caravan’ by Cowcroft appears to be occupied. Also reported that trees down Blackwell Hall Lane need cutting back
  2. JP reported on phone box opp Botley Stores, HS2 and Thames Valley police foot patrols in Ley Hill
  3. Clerk to pass details of all street lamps to Eon
  4. Clerk passed quote for 4 litterpickers for Latimer Village to KP
  5. BP/KP signed Lloyds Bank form for JP to be added as a cheque signatory
